A Close Relative of a DCI Agent in the Teresa Halbach Case Lived on Kuss Road in 2005, and Another DCI Agent Went Undercover as an Autotrader Photographer in Early 2005

On 11/5/2005, a resident named Leo Richmond, who lives at 4201 Kuss Road, called in a tip to CASO about Teresa Halbach knocking on his door the night before (11:30 PM on Friday, 11/4). Leo said that Teresa was looking for a home in his area. Wiegert dismissed the tip and said he would call back later; however, there isn't a follow-up report in the CASO file.

Directly across the street from Leo's home at 4201 Kuss Road is 4130 Kuss Road. At the time of Teresa's disappearance, the home was owned and occupied by a young couple, Joshua and Brenda Sasse. One of the DCI investigators on the case (DCI Appleton field office), Michael C Sasse (CASO page 518), is a close relative to Joshua Sasse.

As of June 2018, tax records online no longer show previous owner information older than two years, but it was confirmed by a reddit user that Joshua and Brenda Sasse owned 4130 Kuss Road at the time of Teresa's disappearance (image below).

Photo is a residence on Kuss Road that shared the same last name with DCI special agent listed on page 518 of CASO file... Agent Sasse (Michael).

Could there be a link?

During, and right after, this couple went through a divorce, and both served in the military....Army, I believe (I have contacts).

Thoughts?

Wait, the current owner shares a last name with Ken Kratz's mentor, former head of the litigation department for the WI DCI, Doug Haag.

[–]Newthingstobeseen

Seriously it always gets back to this guy [Doug Haas]. Isn't he involved in law/land real estate now? What was it? The famous quote by bathrobe Jesus: "There is fuckery in the land/quarry etc?"Gosh dang it. Can a veteran help me out?

[–]localtruther[S]

You are correct! I never made that connection the plot thickens!!! nice catch!

But keep in mind, there may be two, possibly three D++g H++gs from Wisconsin out there. There is the one from Manitowoc who developed campgrounds:

https://www.campjellystone.com/images/Haag.jpg

http://www.woodallscm.com/2014/12/doug-haag-describes-jellystones-origins/

And then there is the one who works for the State of Wisconsin DNR dealing with land issues.

I had no idea about the other name, very interesting indeed !

[–]localtruther[S]

Interesting indeed! Could be absolutely nothing but you never know!

[–]liftsheavy

I also remember seeing a Koch living on Kuss Rd. I’m not sure if they are related to Koch Inc., who are in a bunch of industries including mineral extraction. Company had 100 billion in revenue in 2015. Most likely nothing but thought I would mention.

[–]Newthingstobeseen

And back to the post or comment by Bathrobe Jesus 2 years ago that its all related to the land grab.

This place right here:

https://imgur.com/a/1GSEQ

You can get the address from Google and then go here:

http://webmap2.manitowoc-county.com/EasyAccess/

From this you can look at the parcel and tax records, and I would recommend looking in the timeframe of this case....

JS (Joshua Sasse) and BS (Brenda Sasse) should be your new searching terms.....

https://wcca.wicourts.gov/

Over the last year I have been researching this as much as possible and have learned the following:
  • Both were X-Military (one for sure was M.P).
  • Marital troubles right around the time of this case.
Search for last name SASSE and DCI and you will see an obvious potential connection (Michael C Sasse, DCI Appleton Field Office).

One of the people I encountered while researching this actually dated 'her' briefly (very briefly, as he stated she had a severe drinking problem at that time but has since turned her life around). I asked how they met.....Myspace! So it IS POSSIBLE for people that don't know each other to meet on that site apparently.

I wonder......was TH maybe somehow involved with JS? He works security for Wackenhut in Green Bay, so this isn't really that crazy....I would also wonder, with similar ages of Ryan Hillegas, Scott Bloedorn, Mike Hillegas, is there any other connection....?

This made me go hmm for some reason and I can't shake it!

I forgot this part......

https://www.doj.state.wi.us/sites/default/files/dci/regions.pdf

https://imgur.com/CsQOM3Z

Could this be why the obvious Appleton DCI office was not used?

If you look at the links you will see the Appleton office and who is in charge (Michael C Sasse).

This is the important last name to remember. The previous owners [of 4130 Kuss Road] also had that last name.

I am not saying there is any correlation but after talking to someone who knows them and how abruptly their relationship went south it certainly makes me go hmm...

They are also basically right across the road from the "nothing to see here" location....it makes me wonder...

If nothing else, perhaps no direct involvement, but maybe because of these ties they were told how this went down and to zip it?

Oh, hell, there is a quarry road that runs behind the salvage yard directly to the cul de sac!

[–]idunno_why

That's the driveway to the deer hunting camp.

The "possible gravesite" was found along that driveway, a little ways in from the cul-de-sac.

So, I followed all these leads and all and still not sure who exactly JS and BS are, thought I figured it out, maybe I did, but not sure what the connection is.

Looked at current taxes but there's no intuitive way to look backward that I can see....

[–]localtruther[S]

Interesting it appears as though YESTERDAY they updated the records on all of our tax records and only show previous two years...hmm. When I started this post last week it all showed up. I will see what I can add above so you can all see the connections...

October 24, 2018

There was a young couple (in the beginnings of a divorce) that lived on Kuss Rd, and one of the DCI investigators was a very close relative to them? Would you find that intriguing enough to look into it??

I have posted this before and every single time it has been deleted for one reason or the other...I still believe there could be something to this.

He is very close in age to Teresa Halbach and very well could have had some sort of fling or relationship with her either online or in person.

HE and SHE (his estranged wife at the time) also both have previous Military Police experience.

What if an estranged wife walked in on them late afternoon of the 31st? I have seen the property and with the winds on Oct 31 and Nov 1st -- it would have been favorable for the scent to travel in the direction of basically no one!

The blood splatter in the back of RAV could very well be a surprise attack from another woman.....

The pits are RIGHT THERE and so is the hunting camp and the Kuss Rd site is also RIGHT THERE!

I've had this information for a long time and have investigated as much a civilianly possible.....

Would you have the same gut feeling that do? Or am I overthinking this....?

[–]that_1_friend

Can you go into more detail about this couple? Why do you think TH was involved with the husband?

[–]localtruther[S]

Only a possibility....similar age, scene, and both worked in Green Bay.

[–]Cant_u_see

It is possible that Teresa had another cell phone -- its very probable, I believe.

This could probably be narrowed down by a comparison of her photography clients and the number of conversations she had with them! If she had clients with no record of communications with them its more than likely a second phone existed. Also could these be related to the deleted voicemails? Possibility!

And lets not forget that a cell phone and business papers were discovered by Pam Sturm and the bar owner near the 147 turnaround that mysteriously disappeared! This is also the location where several people called in reporting seeing THs vehicle there!

Also, it is possible communication was done by text messaging -- how many times has a wife gone thru her husband's phone while he was sleeping.

I could imagine a wife seeing a text that says something like, "Going to Avery's to do an Autotrader shoot, we can meet afterwords," or something to that effect.

Remember the guy who chatted with Teresa on yahoo the night before and claimed that she knew she was going to Avery's the next day (CASO page 291).

Why didn't they subpoena the text message records? That doesn't make sense. Maybe they did but they are in the DOJ files -- which would clearly be a Brady violation -- and WHY are the DOJ files on this case sealed, and still sealed 14 years after the fact?

SO, YES, I BELIEVE THIS IS WORTHY OF A THOROUGH INVESTIGATION

[–]7-pairs-of-panties

Well...we do know that she has slept with other married men, so it’s not really out of the question. I suppose my question would be can you prove a connection? Do you have these peoples cell phone or home numbers from back then? If so, send them to KZ. Also would you happen to know if they owned a old white Jeep that the neighbor saw driving on conveyor road with the RAV.

[–]localtruther[S]

With the same last name as a DCI agent, I doubt the jeep is relevant....ALL other information we know stays the same.

I think the fact that we are all barking up the Bobby Dassey and Scott Tadych tree actually makes the MTSO and CASO quite happy.

[–]hollieluluboo

I discovered this a while ago too. The problem is, just about everyone in Manitowoc and the surrounding counties are related in some way so once you start going down those rabbit holes there's no coming up!

[–]localtruther[S]

Actually, this particular family name is NOT indigenous to Manitowoc at all.

[–]hollieluluboo

It doesn't need to be. They just need to be married to someone who is.

[–]localtruther[S]

None are

[–]localtruther[S]

I'm 100% certain and actually have lots more information but can't post here....the current owner of the house, all would find interesting as well.

[–]larrytheloader123

Plausible theory. She very well could have arranged to meet this guy. Maybe why she activated call forwarding on her phone at the time she was receiving the call. Like a do not disturb.

https://www.reddit.com/r/TickTockManitowoc/comments/9r4ghe/what_if_i_were_tell_you/

[–]magilla39[S]

Each potential killer theory has its own way of finding TH's number. If it was a stalking boyfriend, they know it already. Then the voicemail is probably a quarrel. If it's an agent contracted by LE, then LE probably learned about TH by staking out SA and ASY and gave the information to the killer. The killer might have had time to set up a relationship with TH during early rounds.

[–]SBRH33

The digging happened according to Dedering near the field. I don't believe his report at all. In it he supplies the GPS coordinates of the dug up site. It is all BS.

Kuss Road is a very significant crime scene. It was covered up as best they could. The aerial photographs that show the Kuss Road Activity were not taken by Law Enforcement from how I understand it.

Kuss was the one crime scene that was locked down all day on the 8th according to Dedering's report. No one in and no one out.... The 8th was a well spring of a day evidence-wise for LE. The key and bone fragments were found that day and night.

Interestingly enough, the 8th is the very day that thermal imaging was being conducted over the Radandt Quarry, this operation is IMO what produced the clear pictures of the scene down on Kuss Road. I believe it was a third party that conducted this operation hence why LE couldn't control the photographs all too well... perhaps there are photographs of Kuss Road that no one has ever seen before.... suppressed by the Wisco DCI and WAG office.

https://imgur.com/a/EFu7t

One more interesting tid bit. Ryan was down there off of Kuss Road with a team of searchers on November 8th. It is mentioned in the same newspaper article that talks about the thermal imaging taking place from the air.

No one in and no one out. ....Yet Ryan and his "team of untrained law enforcement" are down there searching the woods..... for what?

Chromemykiss made an enormous discovery regarding the burn pile in the quarry. That burn pile is where Ertl was originally sifting in the quarry and where the pelvic bones were discovered. The defense and the prosecution refer to this location as a burn pile. But its most important distinction is that it was the municipal burn pile owned and used by Manitowoc County. This IMO is a huge discovery and a staggering omission from the trial.

That burn pile no longer exist since I believe Michels now owns that portion of the quarry now.

Think about that.... and how all of the evidence was being located in the quarry areas but seemed to migrate over to Avery's neck of the woods for "official discovery"..... and how Loof's tracking was ignored, but probably helped LE find evidence scattered around the quarry and trailers.... Loof was used, but not for good IMO.

Gravel Mounds in the Manitowoc County Pit (Images Below)

"We were then sent to the County Gravel pit, south of the Avery property. K9 Brutus was transported by ATV to that location where burn piles and fresh digs had been identified. We checked several areas in the gravel pit and fresh digs in the walls of the pit, without interest from the dog. Numerous shell casings and unspent bullets were observed. In an area of large concrete slabs, several burn piles had been marked. K9 Brutus barked on two separate locations on this pile (ALERT#15). These locations were double flagged for identification, once the locations were logged/mapped for evidence. In both locations, Brutus barked and dug at the burned area in the concrete." [Source]

Joshua Radandt: "A few days after November 5, 2005, I remember seeing light in the Manitowoc County sand and gravel pit to the south of Radandt's property. I remember that the lights appeared to illuminate the entire Manitowoc County pit."

Volunteers essential in search for Halbach
Green Bay Press Gazette - Green Bay, Wis.
Subjects: Sex crimes; Police

Section: Local/State Document

MISHICOT -- It's nearly 1 p.m., and Ryan Hillegas is leaning on the fender of his car, killing time and waiting for his troops to come out of the woods. The search for the missing Teresa Halbach has been ongoing since daybreak, and Hillegas is hungry. He tears into a Krispy Kreme doughnut, the only food he's had time for all day.

He takes a call on his cell phone, participates in a driveby interview with a television news crew in a sport utility vehicle and copies into a spiral notebook the phone numbers and other notes he's scrawled on his forearm while he was in the woods.

Hillegas, 25, in his faded green "hoodie" sweatshirt, dirty jeans and sneakers and with a stocking cap pulled low over his ears, is an unlikely looking general. And the rag-tag troops that begin to materialize out of the woods in search of further orders and a bit of lunch are an unlikely looking army.

But, according to Calumet County Sheriff Jerry Pagel, they are an indispensable part of the search team that is looking for answers in the disappearance of Halbach, the 25-year-old photographer who has been missing since Oct. 31.

State troopers, police officers and sheriff's deputies working the case on Tuesday alone numbered more than 125, but the search area consists of hundreds of acres of mostly farmland and thick woods -- too much for police alone.

It was Hillegas' crew that found Halbach's car Saturday on the 40-acre salvage yard belonging to the family of Steve Avery, who was convicted of a 1985 sexual assault and exonerated by DNA evidence 18 years later.

It's that 40 acres where police are focusing their investigation, but a police helicopter and plane equipped with thermal imaging devices are circling a much wider area Tuesday afternoon, including the thick woods where Hillegas and the civilian force are searching.

Dozens of cars, most festooned with missing-person posters featuring Halbach's face, are parked up and down the sides of Old County Y, the staging area for the day's search. During the lunch break, searchers gather at the trunks of some of the cars, making sandwiches, or stand in clusters in the road talking and eating. Most are dirty and have cockleburs sticking to their clothing from their morning efforts.

"Thank you, everybody, for what you're doing," a passing motorist tells them as she cruises carefully past them.

Hillegas works closely with the police. He meets with them daily. They tell him the areas to search, what would be helpful and what would be "getting in the way." And he stays in touch with them by cell phone.

Hillegas has no background in law enforcement. He studied nursing in school and is currently unemployed.

Everything he knows about conducting search-and-rescue operations he's learned in the last few days -- advice from cops -- or has seen on TV. If his crew finds anything suspicious, they're under orders to flag it and notify Hillegas, who will notify police who will come check it out.

"We're telling them to look for anything unnatural, if anything is out of place, if the ground is displaced, or articles of clothing," Hillegas said.

Most of the volunteers are armed with cell phones. Hillegas and his lieutenant, Scott Bloedorn, pour over aerial maps that they downloaded from the Internet. They mark off areas of interest in magic marker.

"It's really amazing how well it's been organized," said Aubrey Wygralak of Pulaski, who participated in the search Monday. "It's all due to Ryan and Scott. Ryan is absolutely amazing. I don't know where this would be without him."

Most of the volunteers, like Hillegas and Bloedorn, are in their mid-20s and are also unschooled in search operations. They, too, are learning as they go.

On Tuesday, search efforts look anything but amateur. The searchers march into the woods using a "line-of-sight" formation, in which each person stays within eye contact of searchers on either side of him or her, so they can descend into wooded gullies and thickets with some assurance that they are truly covering the area with the search.

They're all motivated by the same thing: They know and love Halbach, worked with her, went to school with her or even just lived near her for a few years. Hillegas, who lives in Hilbert, dated Halbach in high school and has been fast friends with her ever since. Bloedorn has known Halbach since childhood and has been, up to her disappearance, her roommate in the farmhouse in St. John that they rent from Halbach's parents.

Up to 120 people have been helping in the search, taking off from work or school to participate.

"For any of our effort, even if we don't know where we're going, it's honoring her," said A.J. Kluth, formerly of Green Bay and now a Chicago college student.

Kluth was following the search efforts on the Internet and could no longer stand it; he canceled his classes, his wife, Sarah, canceled her work obligations, and they drove up from Chicago to participate in the search for Halbach.

"She'd have done it for us," Kluth said.

Why did they get search warrants on the 7th and 8th for properties on Kuss Road?

Page 27 in Kratz's Discovery -- Consents to Search (6 pages):

Earl Avery (11/5/05)
Joshua Radandt (11/5/05) - quarry & deer camp off Kuss Road
Susanne Richmond (11/7/05) - 4201 Kuss Road
Todd VanderWarf (11/7/05) - 4183 Kuss Road and vacant lot of possible burial site
Milton Maly (11/8/05) - property on County Road Q

http://www.stevenaverycase.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Kratz-Correspondence-Regarding-Discovery_redacted.pdf

Todd V. = The last house on the right at the end of Kuss Rd.

Susanne R. = The second to last house on Kuss Rd.

Milton M. = It shows his property is on County Road Q and not connected to Kuss Rd. I am not sure why they are searching this property?

[-]magiclougie

The last house on the east side of Kuss Road, the one closest to the deer camp, is 4183 Kuss Road, and it is owned by the Vanderwarfs. They also own the 2.2 acres vacant parcel bordering 4183 Kuss Road, at the cul-de-sac. This vacant parcel also borders Radandt's property and the driveway off of Kuss Road leading to his deer camp. This is the vacant parcel of the possible burial site.

Was it tracking Teresa Halbach alive or dead?

Scent dogs are tracking the scent based on 'exemplar' which was given to them to smell...meaning, if TH shoes was used as the 'exemplar' then scent dogs were following TH smell (obtained from her shoes), But it does NOT mean that scent dogs were 'following' the smell of dead or alive person. They simply following TH scent.

Cadaver dogs are recognized the human's DECOMPOSITION smell produced from human. For example, if you cut your hand 2 weeks ago and your hand was bleeding inside of your car and you didn't wiped your car then cadaver dog will 'alert' to your car because your blood starts decomposing or already decomposed (depends on the time and temperature factors in which your car was stored for these 2 weeks). The decomposition process of human's 'product' (blood, skin, mucus...) creates specific smell/gases which cadaver dogs could smell. But again, it does NOT mean that you're dead. It's simply mean that your old blood (the 'product' of your body) has been decomposed inside of your car. Therefore cadaver dogs made alert to SA's old blood in his bathroom.

CASO witness was most likely a DOJ special agent (self.TickTockManitowoc)
by tick_tock_manitowoc
November 10, 2018

Found it odd that Angela Schuster of Autotrader said in her DCI interview she "thinks Willeford works for the state of WI"... and her CASO interview is completely out there with her statement. So many oddities.

I found it particularly odd a photographer with AT is suddenly jumping to the ranks of a state employee.

Why wouldn't it be weird?

If she already was.

Kathy Willeford is in the new Convicting A Murderer trailer as the "It could have been me!!" sobbing moron.

Turns out...in 1995 a convicted felon's appeal was confirmed. The arresting officers in that case? Some DOJ guy, some DOJ guy and DOJ special agent Cathy W (name redacted, but you know who it is).

The report has nothing to do with Avery. It was found during a search of a lawyer news website for a case that was affirmed in 1996, and she was named in it.

Any online search for Cathy links right back to the one in the documentary.

So now Deb Strauss' call on 11/4, almost a full day before the RAV4 is found, to CASO offering her help to investigate Steven because she is "not a fan of that guy," makes sense.

DOJ setup all the way.

A DOJ agent takes photographs for AT, and after 4 months she quits the job. Then 10 months later, Teresa -- who had been to Willeford's house (Willeford, the only AT employee to ever meet Teresa, other than Schuster) -- ends up dead. And DOJ swarms the Avery property, but not before another DOJ special agent (Deb Strauss) calls CASO, before any evidence is found, and offers to help investigate.

Cathy is documented in court files as being a DOJ special agent. I am sure there is an explanation of why she is an agent, then suddenly not when she steps on Avery's property. But the ball will be in DOJ's court to explain this.

Which is more likely...she stopped being a LE agent in her mid-30's and suddenly decided to take photographs of cars for about $8-$18 per car... pictures in the middle of winter in an area documented by the manager of AT as not getting much business in the winter months... Or she was employed by the DOJ, visiting the property where the DOJ would be swarming 10 months later? I'd say it's more likely she was undercover as a photographer on the property to shoot surveillance photos in a way that didn't look suspicious at all.
[–]ThackerLaceyDeJaynes

The address that is redacted on the LE report....matches. This Cathy...that LE states is an employee of the State of Wisconsin...has the beginning numbers of N3126. She was DOJ in 1995, Auto Trader in 2004, but with the State AGAIN?

Doubt it.

This could be f'n huge.

[–]sunshine654654

So she went undercover as an at photographer prior to the death of Teresa?

[–]tick_tock_manitowoc[S]

Either that... or her statement is fabricated to present the "Avery is creepy" status.

If she stepped onto the property as an agent of the DOJ 10 months before TH was killed, then we are talking about a MAJOR conspiracy to frame him.

I am not enough of a conspiracy theorist to think that, so I am more willing to say they just used her to create the "Steven creeped TH out" aura, with her CASO statement to corraborate Ken's claims (CASO page 331).

http://www.stevenaverycase.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/CASO-Investigative-Report.pdf#page=331

TYPE OF ACTIVITY: Interview of:
Kathy D. Willeford
DOB 09/30/68
N3126 Deercreek Ct.
Waldo, WI 53093
Telephone number: 920-528-7755
DATE OF ACTIVITY: 11/04/06
REPORTING OFFICER: Inv. Mark Wiegert

On 01/04/06 at approximately 1800 hours, I (Inv. WIEGERT of the CALUMET COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT) had telephone contact with KATHY WILLEFORD. My reason for contacting KATHY was that she was a photographer for AUTO TRADER magazine prior to TERESA HALBACH. KATHY states she started working for the AUTO TRADER magazine on 12/02/04 and worked until 04/20/05.

I asked KATHY if she had ever been to the AVERY residence in her job duties as a photographer for AUTO TRADER magazine. KATHY told me she had been to STEVEN AVERY's residence on one occasion. KATHY states she believes it was on the date of 01/25/05. She states she believes it was a Tuesday because that was the normal day she would go out and take photos.

According to KATHY, she received a "lead sheet" from AUTO TRADER magazine. KATHY states those are the sheets they get when they are to go out and take photos. KATHY states she went to the STEVEN AVERY residence on the morning of 01/25/05 sometime between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. She stated when she arrived, she observed an Olds Cutlass, which was parked outside. She states when she drove up, she noticed the vehicle and then got out of her car and walked up to the vehicle to verify it was the one that she was to take the photo of. She states she remembers driving to the residence and that it was very desolate there and she was somewhat concerned about that.

When KATHY drove up to the AVERY residence, she stated there was nobody outside. After verifying the car, KATHY walked up to the STEVEN AVERY residence and knocked on the door. At that time, STEVEN stuck his head out and stated he would be right outside. After several minutes, KATHY indicates STEVEN walks out of the trailer and she takes the picture.

KATHY stated she then asked STEVEN about the narrative he was suppose to write up. STEVEN told KATHY he forgot to write it up at which time he went inside the trailer. KATHY stated at that time she walked up onto the porch and waited for STEVEN to come back out with the narrative. KATHY stated it seemed to take an unusual amount of time for him to write up the short narrative, which was suppose to go along with the picture. She stated it was very cold outside and, at one point, STEVEN poked his head out the door and stated if she was cold, she could come inside his trailer. KATHY states she knows they have a policy against going into people's houses, so she went back and sat in her vehicle.

KATHY told me it took a good ten minutes for STEVEN to come back out of the trailer. When he came back out, he walked over to her vehicle and handed her the narrative to go along with the pictures she had taken. According to KATHY, STEVEN said to her if this works out, that his sister has a car for sale and he may do the same thing as in putting it in the AUTO TRADER. KATHY states prior to leaving, STEVEN asked KATHY how he could contact her if he needed to. KATHY told STEVEN he could call the main office number like he had previously done.

I asked KATHY if at any time STEVEN did anything out of the ordinary or suspicious. KATHY stated he (meaning STEVEN) did not; however, she stated, "He creeped me out." I asked KATHY what she meant by that to which KATHY stated it was just the way STEVEN was staring at her. KATHY also stated when she pulled up, the dogs were barking very loudly so STEVEN would have had to have known that somebody was outside the trailer; however, he never came out until she went and knocked on his door.

KATHY stated that was the only time she had been to the AVERY residence and then she quit working for the AUTO TRADER in April.

According to KATHY, when she was taking pictures for AUTO TRADER, she was using a Nikon Coolpix (ph) 2100 camera. KATHY states after she quit working for AUTO TRADER, TERESA had come to her residence, she believes in the month of May, and picked up her camera for the AUTO TRADER. According to KATHY, TERESA was already working for AUTO TRADER before KATHY quit working there. I asked her how she knew this to which KATHY stated she had seen her name on a roster of employees.

In speaking with KATHY, she stated when she talked with TERESA, TERESA had stated she had to pick her camera up and had mentioned something about the AUTO TRADER having a storage facility. TERESA had told KATHY that every once in a while AUTO TRADER had her go to the storage facility.

I ended my interview with KATHY at approximately 1810 hours.

Investigation continues.

It would literally explain many of the biggest missing pieces/WTF's in this case. Halbach family behaviors for starters, and then the shit all unravels.

I am suddenly reminded of Sarah Gee's statement: "In 2005, SA's lawsuit was Manitowoc biggest nightmare, KZ is about to make that nightmare look like a happy place."

The stakes were:

SA civil suit

Those exposed not covered by state/town insurance

Loss of jobs, pensions, social status etc etc etc

PennyB would sue victims of assaults/rape of GAllen

Then the #GoldenGoose of all would be the full exposure of other cases and the crime lab.

This was a HUGE HUGE MOTIVATION. Feel free to add other areas of exposure.

[–]N64_Controller

So was TH killed? Or is the conspiracy bigger than that...

[–]KaizenKZ

I don't think she was killed at all, no.

[–]hnfhelper

zero evidence of TH dead

[–]MaxMathematician

Despite suspecting it as almost everyone has, it's chilling to read this.

[–]sunshine654654

Yes, I agree with option 2. If it is the same person, it's huge.

[–]7-pairs-of-panties

It’s shocking and SAD SAD SAD. Their lies are unraveling on them.

[–]pdent

To add, she's also friendly with Fauske. The dog handler who was involved in the case!

I knew something was extremely odd about her demeanour in that CAM trailer.

The gloves are coming off. Dirty moves all around.

[–]JJacks61

I look at the actions of several of the DOJ agents and it becomes clear. This is how many of them operate, possibly even trained. It is a perceived personal vendetta, and less about looking for the truth.

I seriously doubt that phone from Strauss to CASO was out of the ordinary. That was a really shitty and brazen thing she said: she was part of Peg's investigation into MTSO, and she damn well knew there was a cover up.

These are the kinds of people KZ and her team have to deal with. Garbage.

[–]KaizenKZ

It's motivation is and always is $$$$

[–]Coriolana

The Cathy/Kathy have different spellings. Are you sure these are the same people?

[–]tick_tock_manitowoc[S]

Well considering Schuster said she worked for the state of WI and if you try to search Cathy online, it always points back to Kathy's info...i'd say they are.

[–]KaizenKZ

Oopsie just a typo they will claim. Lol

[–]Casablank10

This is huge! Good work putting this together.

[–]hnfhelper

So Cathy was undercover as Autotrader employee... so was either Carmen or Teresa. This goes all the way to the top; and as Barb said back in 2007, "I think the Halbachs set this whole thing up, I really do."

[–]bonnieandy2

This is amazing stuff, how do we confirm they are one and the same, CKathy?

[–]dugdiggins

"Found it odd that Schuster said in her DCI interview she "thinks Willeford works for the state of WI"...and her CASO interview is completely out there with her statement. So many oddities."

This adds to the speculation that Teresa was a CI, who got the job with AT to spy on Steven.

According to McGrath's DCI report on his interview with Schuster, Schuster said Teresa was referred to her by a customer, whose name she didn't remember, and it was Teresa who contacted Schuster for the job.

According to the CASO file, Martinzez (the guy who struck his girlfriend with a hatchet) said Steven thought Teresa was spying on him and "was coming to his house to pinpoint him for a crime he did not commit."

According to the CASO file, Jodi's stepfather said his co-worker told him that "there was more going on than was coming out" and it involved Martinez.

[–]N64_Controller

It feels like we are getting really close to the truth now..

[–]Moonborne11

Great find. Did Kathy take photos at the salvage yard prior to TH working at AT?

[–]tick_tock_manitowoc[S]

She claims she did in January 2005.

[–]Moonborne11

It would certainly be an interesting twist if someone from the yard remembers her and she's employed by the DOJ, wouldn't it?

IMO, it would begin to explain a whole lot.

[-] black-dog-barks

Up until all this new BoD stuff I'd of said it's most likely TH is alive, and maybe she is...and to get SA a new trial Zellner has to use BoD. KZ can not just come out and say TH was a undercover cop, or she faces jail time, as laws were made to keep their ID secret. It would explain the Halbachs' actions. They know she is relocated and her ID as TH must remain as dead. Pretty sick of the Sheriff to use SA as the Patsy, and also take down BD ... but as KZ says, they are disposable.

Somewhere in all the readings about the case a "CI" is involved.

Autotrader-like magazines have always been a bookie's dream, and no doubt a place to launder $$ for the drug trade...

Some theories presented in Tick Tock have been that TH was working for the Justice Dept. If TH had been discovered as being undercover could that have caused the death of cousin Carmin? You may not feel they look alike, but I see they could be sisters.

Did a certain drug dealer give Carmin an extra heavy does of heroin thinking she was TH?

Did TH then become too hot for the Justice Dept to continue to be an operative in MC... removed to go on assignment like in the Washington State area?

The Sheriff of MC then makes the best of a bad thing... he uses Carmin's bones to set up SA... he has her blood on file, just enough from a vile to make the SUV look like a crime happened... and if needed TH would donate her blood so that it appeared she was dead to the cartels.

Bloodhound and Cadaver Dog Alerts Exculpated Steven Avery Yet Were Ignored

Joshua Radandt gave an affidavit, which was included in Kathleen Zellner's motion for post-conviction relief filed on June 7, 2017.

The following is part of Radandt's affidavit (when he says "later that week," he is talking about the week following Teresa's disappearance, and "later that week" would be November 10th or 11th, but not November 12th since that is the day the contents of "deer camp burn barrel #2" were processed):
I told the officers that I saw a fire, orange in color, when I was driving from the Radandt sand and gravel pit to the hunting camp on October 31, 2005, at approximately 5:00 p.m. I told the officers that I saw the fire from the direction of the Avery property. Because it was dark or getting dark when I saw the fire, I was not sure where exactly the fire was located. I did not observe any smoke coming from the fire.

The fire did not appear to be spread out and its flames appeared to be 2.5-3 feet in height. These characteristics were consistent with my personal knowledge of burn barrel fires. Because I observed these characteristics, I assumed the fire was contained in a burn barrel. I did not see whether the fire was actually contained in a burn barrel.

After I told them this information, the officers asked me to follow them by automobile over public highways to the business area of Avery's Auto Salvage, where law enforcement had a command post. There, I made a written statement at approximately 5:30 p.m.

Less than one week after I provided that written statement, two officers, who I believe were from the Wisconsin Department of Justice, met me at the hunting camp to discuss the fire I saw. I remember them asking me if I was sure that I saw what I said I saw. It seemed to me that they weren't satisfied with my statement about the fire. Specifically, it seemed to me that they wanted me to change my story to include a larger fire. Because they were reluctant to accept my story as true, I eventually asked them what they wanted me to say. They told me that all they wanted was the truth. I advised them that I had been telling the truth.

At that time, I was told by DOJ agents that they believed that Teresa Halbach's vehicle was driven to the Kuss Rd cul-de-sac by driving west through an empty field, then south down the gravel road past the hunting camp until reaching an intersection with a gravel road that ran northeast into the Avery property.

They told me that they believed Halbach's vehicle turned northeast onto the gravel road and entered the Avery property at its southwest corner. It is my understanding that this theory was based on the work of scent tracking dogs.

I also read and heard it from others that law enforcement stated that they believed that Teresa Halbach's vehicle was stored somewhere on Radandt's property before it was moved to the southeast corner of Avery property.

Later that week I received a call from law enforcement on my cell phone. Law enforcement asked me to unlock my three hunting trailers so they could be searched. I left work and drove to the hunting camp. When I arrived there was nobody there. I unlocked my trailers and left.

It is my understanding that they were searched by law enforcement and scent tracking dogs.

Later that day law enforcement called my phone again. They informed me they completed their search and I could use them again normally.

During the course of the conversation law enforcement informed me that they were going to collect the contents of the burn barrel at the hunting camp at a later time. When I returned to camp they had the area cordoned off surrounding the burn barrel and had officers to watch the burn barrel day and night on a rotating basis until its contents were collected.

A few days after November 5, 2005, I remember seeing light in the Manitowoc County sand and gravel pit to the south of Radandt's property. I remember that the lights appeared to illuminate the entire Manitowoc County pit.

I understand that there were suspected human pelvic bones recovered from a gravel pit property south of Avery's Auto Salvage. Upon reviewing a map showing the coordinates at which these bones were found, I believe they were found in the Manitowoc County sand and gravel pit.

Prior to November 5, 2005, the only permanent security measures in place to prevent access to the Radandt sand and gravel pit by trespassers were "Private Property" signs posted at all entrances. There were locking gates or cables at each access road, but they were rarely used.

Approximately one or two months before the start of Mr. Avery's criminal trial in 2007, I was summoned to the courthouse. At the courthouse, I was questioned again about my recollection of seeing a fire in the direction of the Avery property on October 31, 2005. I was not called as a witness to testify at Mr. Avery's criminal trial in 2007.

CASO deputy Gary Steier's interpretation of Joshua Radandt's statements.

Radandt's deer camp off of Kuss Road and the Radandt gravel pit. Loof's handler Sarah Fauske and Deputy Rick Reimer worked this area. "K9 Loof went west in a picked cornfield. Directly to the south was a gravel pit and in between the two was an area of brush and trees. K9 Loof worked this area with indications of very strong scent. K9 Loof worked west coming out to a cul-de-sac that was taped off with crime scene tape and two deputies were not allowing access. K9 Loof crossed the tape on one occasion and then was told not to go any further. The deputies phoned Sheriff Pagel to see if I could continue but were told to not allow anyone access at this time."

The following is a summary on the impact of Joshua Radandt's affidavit (credit to redditer 7-pair-of-panties):
1. LE knew that RAV4 was stored on Radandt's property before being moved.
2. LE knew the route that RAV4 took to get where it was found.
3. LE found the bones, maybe even burned them themselves, and protected them round the clock till they could be planted and re-found in/near Steven Avery's burn pit. Do we have pictures of any of either location? Oh yeah, never mind that!
4. We have bright lights in the Manitowoc county gravel pit, illuminating everything. Could someone have been picking the best, most identifiable bones for the planting? Oops, they dropped a few along the way! Don't worry, we'll just try to convince/strong arm the neighbor into saying the fire was MUCH bigger than it actually was, and we'll just leave a few random bones around his property so he'll be sure to cooperate with us.
5. After reading Radant's statement, this case goes straight to the top!
6. Thank you for the truth Joshua Radant! Wish there were more like you around there. So sorry you got wrapped up for so long in all this.
Zellner noted in her June 7, 2017 motion that "Mr. Radandt has been unfairly targeted as a possible suspect because he owned land adjacent to the Avery property." She also noted: "Current post-conviction counsel has interviewed Mr. Radandt on two occasions and has been accompanied by him twice to view all of his property. No evidence exists that implicates Mr. Radandt in the murder of Ms. Halbach, and he has a solid alibi for the afternoon of October 31st, 2005."

Zellner wrote in her June 7, 2017 motion that law enforcement pressured Joshua Radandt to describe the fire he observed on October 31st around 4:30 p.m. as a large fire behind Steven Avery's garage, in an open burn pit, even though in his written statement on November 5th Radandt described the fire as being in a burn barrel. Radandt stated:
I remember them asking me if I was sure that I saw what I said I saw. It seemed to me that they weren't satisfied with my statement about the fire. Specifically, it seemed to me that they wanted me to change my story to include a larger fire. Because they were reluctant to accept my story as true, I eventually asked them what they wanted me to say. They told me that all they wanted was the truth. I advised them that I had been telling the truth.
The following in from Zellner's June 7, 2017 motion for post-conviction relief, in the section labelled, "Trial Defense Counsel Failed to Investigate the Veracity of the Police Reports Regarding Joshua Radandt" (Radandt was on both the prosecution's and defense's witness lists but neither team called him to the stand).
When Mr. Radandt told investigators that he saw a fire on the Avery properly on October 31, 2005, he described the fire as appearing to be contained to a fifty-five gallon drum. When investigators re-interviewed Mr. Radandt on November 10, 2005, they pressured him to describe the fire as large, behind Mr. Avery's garage, and in an open burn pit. Mr. Radandt never told investigators that the fire was behind Mr. Avery's garage. Mr. Radandt sets forth in his affidavit that he remembers seeing the fire, contained to a burn barrel, and between several trailers on the Avery property.

Trial defense counsel failed to investigate Mr. Radandt's observation of a fire on the Avery property. Had trial defense counsel investigated Mr. Radandt, they would have learned that investigators had pressured Mr. Radandt to exaggerate the size of the fire, and he refused to do so. If trial defense counsel had called Mr. Radandt as a witness, his testimony would have demonstrated to the jury that the investigators knew Ms. Halbach's vehicle had been driven through his gravel pit and planted on Mr. Avery's property. The jury would also have learned of the efforts of the investigators to pressure Mr. Radandt to exaggerate the size of the fire.
Regarding the burn barrels, Zellner wrote on page 76 of the motion filed on June 7, 2017:
Bone fragments could not have actually been located in burn barrel no. two because this barrel had already been sifted by WSCL personnel on November 7, and no human bone fragments were discovered in this barrel or any of the barrels examined at that time. During their examination of barrel no. two on November 7, 2005, WSCL personnel used the same sifting apparatus that they later used to sift the burn pit behind Mr. Avery's garage. Suspiciously, the pieces of burned bone that were eventually found in barrel no. two were noticeably larger than the bone fragments from the burn pit. If bone fragments had been in burn barrel no. two when it was examined by Mr. Ertl and his team from the WSCL on November 7, 2005, the bone fragments would have been isolated by their sifting apparatus.

The area north of the Kuss Road cul-de-sac in the image above was a field in 2005, with a unpaved road that lead to the Avery property (see the field and the field road bordering the Avery property and Radandt quarry in the image below from November 2005).

The following is a report by Sarah Fauske, the handler for Loof the bloodhound, who, on November 5th, was tasked with tracking Teresa's scent (exhibit 46 of the motion for post-conviction relief filed on June 7, 2017).

Investigators would not allow Loof, with his handler Sarah Fauske and Deputy Rick Riemer, to cross the crime scene tape onto Kuss Road, the site of a possible burial site. Loof was "working this area with indications of very strong scent" when deputies, upon instructions from Sheriff Pagel, told Fauske and Riemer they were not allowed access.
After being spoken to by Sheriff Pagel, Deputy Sippel, Deputy Bowe and DCI agents, I explained my plamed areas of running tracks. My two areas of interest were where the vehicle was located on the south end of the property and the other being from the area that Teresa was last seen taking photographs of the van by the trailer of Steven Avery. Deputy Rick Riemer of the Calumet County Sheriff's Department was assigned to assist me on the tracks.

We walked down the driveway to the Avery property to the area where the van was sitting and for sale. I pre-scented K9 Loof and did a perimeter scent inventory. K9 Loof was harnessed, given the scent article of the insole [of Teresa's shoe] and given the command of "Find."

Having started approximately 50 feet east of the van, K9 Loof immediately went to the front portion of the van for sale. K9 Loof continued west going to a black F350 parked in the driveway in front of a garage. K9 Loof went to both doors of the truck. K9 Loof then went directly to the service door of the garage and worked her nose along the bottom of the actual overhead garage door, showing much interest.

K9 Loof worked west around the side of the garage but was unable to continue due to a large aggressive appearing German Shepard. K9 Loof wanted to continue around the garage.

K9 Loof went up to the south door of the trailer home. The door having a small porch entrance and the door was white in color. K9 Loof wanted to enter the home. K9 Loof continued north along the trailer and went between some pine trees and a burning barrel. K9 Loof smelled a charred area showing some interest then continued west.

K9 Loof went west in a picked cornfield. Directly to the south was a gravel pit and in between the two was an area of brush and trees. K9 Loof worked this area with indications of very strong scent. K9 Loof worked west coming out to a cul-de-sac [at the end of Kuss Road] that was taped off with crime scene tape and two deputies were not allowing access. K9 Loof crossed the tape on one occasion and then was told not to go any further. The deputies phoned Sheriff Pagel to see if I could continue but were told to not allow anyone access at this time.

K9 Loof was unharnessed and we waited for further instructions.

K9 Loof worked consistently as she does while working "strong scent."

Witnessed by Deputy Rick Riemer.

On 11/3, Avery attempted to unhitch a trailer and broke open a cut on the middle finger of his right hand. His finger was dripping blood as entered his trailer through the south door. He dripped blood on the floor as he entered the bathroom to find a piece of tape to put on the cut. He dripped blood onto the rim and basin of the sink and the bathroom floor. He did not wash away or wipe up the floor or sink because his brother Chuck was waiting for him to go to Menards in Manitowoc with him. He hastily wrapped his finger in masking tape and exited the trailer through the front door. Avery forgot to lock the south door on the front of the trailer. He did not clean the blood out of his sink prior to leaving the trailer at approximately 7:30 p.m. to go to Menards with his brother Chuck. The killer, observing the Avery property from a secluded spot off of the Kuss Road cul-de-sac, saw Avery leave. The killer entered Avery's trailer using the unlocked south entry door. The killer intended to steal something with Avery's DNA to put in Teresa's RAV4. The killer noticed fresh blood in Avery's bathroom sink. Having a background in science, the killer collected the blood and planted it in the RAV4.

Avery's backyard with above-ground pool: a raised berm lined by trees and brush (the berm, trees and brush are to the right of the pool) separates the backyard from Radandt's gravel pit (Avery's garage is at the top left of the photo)

Maps of the track from the cul-de-sac at Kuss Road to the driveway of the deer camp, which continued on from the deer camp into the quarry. The entrance to the camp driveway juts out from the wide area of the cul-de-sac (below where the red line turns sharply in the bottom image and at the start of the yellow image in the top image). However, in the top image the red line is too far to the left; the yellow line is the track described in Joshua Radandt's affidavit.

The following is a report from Great Lakes Search and Rescue Report, which was attached as an exhibit to Zellner's post-conviction petition.

GLSAR [Great Lakes Search and Rescue] members arrived on scene at the roadblock at CTH Q/Hwy 147 in Manitowoc County at 2:45 pm on November 5, responding to a page from Manitowoc County Sheriff's Dept.

At approximately 3:30 pm, one cadaver dog team was requested to proceed to the command post on the Avery salyage yard property. The dog selected was K9 Brutus, a 9-year old Belgian Malinois with extensive search experience and handler Julie Cramer with back up handler Bob Cramer.

Upon arrival at the command post, it was requested that K9 Brutus proceed into the salvage yard and check the area of a car crusher and vehicles located on the southeast corner of the property.

Brutus checked the car crusher and numerous vehicles as he worked in a southernly direction. He turned to proceed west and gave a headcheck and rushed to a green vehicle [Teresa Halbach's RAV4], partially covered by blue tarp.

He began to bark, which is his trained alert behavior, indicating the presence of human decomposition. (ALERT #1)

After investigators noted his response and identified the vehicle as belonging to the victim, we continued to work vehicles in the area.

Brutus showed interest along the berm south of the vehicle.

We proceeded into the gravel pit immediately south of the victim's SUV, and while he seemed agitated, no second alert was given in that area.

At the southern edge of that gravel pit, in the western corner along a road that ran along a gravel conveyor, K9 Brutus again began to bark. Several spent shell casings were noted in the area, but no scent source was located at that time (ALERT #2).

We continued around the gravel pit, returning to the area of the salvage yard, checked the pond area directly north of the victim's vehicle, rechecked the car crusher, and returned to command post.

At this time 4 teams: K9 Lucy, K9 Trace, K9 Rieseling and K9 Cody, were sent to begin checking vehicles in the salvage yard.

During this search, the four dog teams used the existing roads through the salvage yard to create grid patterns and did a specific vehicle checks of each vehicle their areas. Two teams reported an alert in the same area.

Both K9 Lucy and K9 Trace alerted in area of the salvage yard along the gravel conveyor in the southwestern section of the yard (ALERT #3). This area was north of the area of Alert 2. While both dogs alerted, no scent source was located at this time.

K9 Brutus was now re-assigned to check various specific areas/buildings with investigators. We first moved to the red mobile home, identified as Steven Avery's. We checked the interior of the residence. Brutus checked the bedroom area with increased interest, but no alert. He alerted in the bathroom/laundry room with his trained bark alert (ALERT #4). No source scent was visible at the time. No other interest inside the residence.

Moving outside, we checked an area with 4 burn barrels. K9 Brutus alerted on one of the barrels with extreme animation and excitement (ALERT #5). We moved east to numerous outbuildings and machine sheds, checking ATVs, diggers, front end loaders and trailers, as well as building interiors. K9 Brutus alerted on some car parts in the maintenance building (ALERT #6) and on a golf cart parked in a small building behind the main residence on the property (ALERT #7). Brutus then returned to the command post.

All GLSAR canine cleared the scene after completing these assignments.

It should be noted that on November 5 during the hours that the dog teams worked, the weather worsened. Heavy rains and darkness hampered attempts to locate the scent sources the dogs alerted on. All indications were reported to the command post, and law enforcement officers accompanied each GLSAR dog team.

On November 6 GLSAR mernbers arrived at the search scene at the Avery Salvage yard at 7:30 am, responding to a page from the Manitowoc Sheriff's Dept.

Initially 2 (HRD) cadaver dogs were given assignments.

Lucy was sent to check perimeters of building and structures in the compound. K9 Lucy showed increased interest in the area of a breezeway between a light green residence and garage, however, no alert was given.

K9 Brutus was sent to recheck the area of the car crusher and vehicles in the southeast corner of the salvage yard. Brutus alerted on 2 vehicles (ALERT #8) that were parked on the west side of the pond, north of where the victim's vehicle had been the previous evening. It appeared that blood in these 2 vehicles may have resulted from the event damaging the vehicles, however, both vehicles were flagged and rechecked by K9 Lucy.

Both Brutus and Lucy checked the pond in that area with no alerts. As we exited the salvage yard, Brutus alerted on the entrance to a mobile home along the gravel drive, identified as the home of Charles Avery (ALERT #9).

K9 Simon and K9 Cody were dispatched to check vehicles parked in fenced area west of the main salvage yard, along a gravel road that was west of Steven Avery's residence. Both dogs cleared their area with specific vehicle checks, neither reporting any alerts.

K9 Trace checked the exterior of Steven Avery's residence and red van in driveway without alert.

At this time 4 dog teams were sent to check the gravel pit immediately south of the salvage yard.

K9 Lucy, K9 Trace, K9 Rieseling, K9 Simon set up a grid pattern to clear this area.

K9 Lucy reported an alert in the same area that the dogs had alerted the previous evening, labeled Alerts 2 and 3 (ALERT #10).

K9 Simon and K9 Lucy returned to cornmand post after completing the area of the gravel pit south of the salvage yard.

K9 Trace and K9 Reiseling proceeded to an area of 2 ponds west of the salvage yard, being searched by the Winnebago Dive team. These dogs cleared the quarry south of the ponds, and then returned to base, no alerts reported in this area.

The next area searched by GLSAR K9 was the gravel pit, east of Avery Road, north of the salvage yard. K9 Cody, K9 Simon, K9 Harley and K9 Kova gridded that quarry, working from south to north. An alert was reported in the center of the pit, along a sand pile, and marked with a tag (ALERT #11). This area was marked by K9 Kova and rechecked by K9 Simon and K9 Cody, both of whom showed interest....with K9 Cody alerting just north of that location.

Upon completion of these assignments, GLSAR handlers and teams from Midwest K9 cleared the scene after meeting with Lt. Brett Bowe at the Command Post.

Other canine with civilian handlers were on scene at this time.

On November 6, weather was again a factor working against the dogs. There was rain and sleet early in the day, with high winds. Dog handlers set up varied grid patterns to account for wind conditions. Alerts were reported to back up personnel and command post.

On Monday November 7, Julie and Bob Cramer responded to the scene with K9 Brutus and K9 Trace at the request of Investigator Dedering of the Calumet County Sherift's Dept.

We arrived on scene at 11:30 am and were asked to recheck the gravel piles east of Avery Road, where dogs had alerted the day before. K9 Brutus went over the area carefully but did not alert at the flagged location or in the area of that gravel pit.

We then proceeded to a location we were requested to check on Kuss Road, where a potential burial site had been located.

Upon arrival there K9 Brutus checked the area, and after passing the area upon entry in the wooded area, he gave a headcheck, returning to the location and gave his bark alert (ALERT #12) and seemed to be particularly interested in a shovel lying next to the disturbed earth.

We were cleared from that location, but returned a short time later to recheck the area. The shovel had been removed and was to be checked separately. Neither dog showed any interest on the shovel.

K9 Trace checked the wooded area first, and did not alert, but did show interest, increased animation and high headchecks.

Upon returning to the area a second time, K9 Brutus again barked and alerted near the area of disturbed earth.

We then returned to the Command Post and were asked to re-check the trailer belonging to Charles Avery, where there had been an alert a day prior (ALERT #9). At the exterior of the home, Brutus again barked at the door and scratched to enter the residence. K9 Trace also barked at the front door. Once inside the trailer, K9 Brutus proceeded to check the interior, alerting inside a bedroom at the bed and a pile of clothing. He was very agitated but no sense source was noticed.

On this date, we were able to orient our alerts and summarize the work of the last 2 days on a large map in the command post. This provided a better overview for our team leadership on areas that needed additional coverage. We were also better able to provide appropriate resources for assignment.

On November 8, Julie Cramer with K9 Brutus and K9 Trace and Grace Salm with K9 Cody responded to the scene arriving at noon. We were dispatched to the Malle property on CTH Q just outside the village of Larrabee to check some ponds and a hunting club location. The 2 canine teams divided the area and worked a grid pattern, checking ponds, buildings and wooded areas with no alerts reported.

K9 Brutus was then sent to check the berm just west of Steven Avery's property. There was report of a suspicious looking pile of disturbed earth. Brutus showed no interest in pile, but did alert on a pile of brush and trash just west of the Avery residence (ALERT #13) and was very excited along the edge of the berm. This excitement continued as we proceeded south along this ridge and he carefully checked brushy areas west of the Avery yard and along the edge of the salvage yard. His behavior was noted by law enforcement personnel in the area, who indicated that mantrailing bloodhounds had also been interested in the same area.

Why Did Loof the Bloodhound Alert on Teresa Halbach's Scent at the Cul-de-sac on Kuss Road? [Updated 6-12-2017]

The driveway to Joshua Radandt's deer camp is off the Kuss Road cul-de-sac. A field road from the Avery property leads to the cul-de-sac, and vice versa. Click here for a photo tour of Kuss Road, the driveway to Radandt's deer camp, and the area around the quarry by sweatyuncle_steve at reddit on May 29, 2017.

Included in Kathleen Zellner's August 26, 2016 motion is CASO Deputy Rick Riemer's report of activity for November 7th (exhibit D of Zellner's motion and CASO file page 138). Riemer wrote that he and Fauske walked Radandt's quarry and the surrounding field area with a bloodhound named Loof, and Loof tracked to "the south entry door" of a "red trailer" and "was very intense on this track." He also wrote that "this track continued in a westward direction to a cul-de-sac at the end of Kuss Road" (go to page 43 of Zellner's October 23, 2017 motion to read her explanation about Kuss Road).

Riemer's report is as follows (slightly paraphrased):
"I assisted Sarah Fauske, a patrol officer from Kaukauna Police Department, and her bloodhound, Loof, with tracking. We walked the Radandt quarry and field area on different tracks, covering five to 10 miles. One of the more significant tracks that Loof tracked was from the south entry door of the red house trailer near the concrete stoop, and this track continued in a westerly direction toward a cul-de-sac at the end of Kuss Road. Fauske indicated that Loof was very intense on this track."
In the report it is unclear if Riemer is referring to the red trailer at Avery Salvage Yard or a red trailer at Radandt's deer camp, but he does specify that he and Fauske were in Radandt's quarry and the surrounding field areas when they walked the five to 10 miles of tracks with Loof the bloodhound. And since Zellner included Riemer's report as an exhibit in her motion, the logical conclusion would be that Riemer is referring to a red trailer at the deer camp in Radandt's quarry (image below).

UPDATE JUNE 12, 2017: Attached to Kathleen Zellner's June 7, 2017 motion for post-conviction relief is a report by Loof's handler, which states that on November 7, 2005 Loof the bloodhound, tracking Teresa Halbach's scent, walked around Avery's premise, garage and trailer and had shown interest at areas there. This means the trailer that Loof hit on was Avery's red trailer, not the red trailer that had been at the deer camp. The following is Loof's handler's report for activity on November 7th.
We walked down the driveway to the Avery property to the area where the van was sitting and for sale. I pre-scented K9 Loof and did a perimeter scent inventory. K9 Loof was harnessed, given the scent article of the insole and given the command of "Find".

K9 Loof worked west coming out to a cul-de-sac that was taped off with crime scene tape and two deputies were not allowing access. K9 Loof crossed the tape on one occasion and then was told not to go any further. The deputies phoned Sheriff Pagel to see if I could continue but were told to not allow anyone access at this time.

UPDATE JUNE 12, 2017: Also attached to Zellner's motion for post-conviction relief file is an affidavit from Joshua Radandt. The following is an excerpt (see also, Ken Kratz "Shuffled" the Burn Barrels, Which is How "Deer Camp Burn Barrel #2," the Only Barrel to Contain Bones, Became "Janda Burn Barrel #2").
"Later that week I received a call from law enforcement on my cell phone. Law enforcement asked me to unlock my three hunting trailers so they could be searched. I left work and drove to the hunting camp. When I arrived there was nobody there. I unlocked my trailers and left.

"It is my understanding that they were searched by law enforcement and scent tracking dogs.

"Later that day law enforcement called my phone again. They informed me they completed their search and I could use them again normally.

"During the course of the conversation law enforcement informed me that they were going to collect the contents of the burn barrel at the hunting camp at a later time. When I returned to camp they had the area cordoned off surrounding the burn barrel and had officers to watch the burn barrel day and night on a rotating basis until its contents were collected.

"A few days later I remember seeing light in the Manitowoc county sand and gravel pit to the south of Radant's property. I remember that the lights appeared to illuminate the entire Manitowoc county pit."

Picture this scene: "Any sign of my missing Teresa?" "No sorry, Ms. Halbach..our sheriff blocked the search and rescue dogs from looking."

Zellner is seeking a judge's permission to allow advanced DNA and scientific testing on the pelvic bones found in the burn pile at Radandt's quarry [CASO Property No. 8675] and on burnt material found at Radandt's deer camp [CASO Property No. 7958 and 7953] off the seldom-traveled stretch of Kuss Road.

Zellner wrote in her August 26, 2016 motion that bones found in Radandt's quarry, which included a pelvis, were suspected to be human:
"State expert Leslie Eisenberg testified that the volume of bones discovered in the burn pit was 'two-to three-fifths of what might be expected.' Dr. Eisenberg also admitted that the bones had been moved prior to their location in Mr. Avery’s burn pit. Dr. Eisenberg testified that she suspected that the bones found in the Radandt quarry, which included a pelvis, were human."
During Zellner's press conference on August 26, 2016, she said that only 30 percent of the bones were recovered and 29 of the teeth were never recovered
"The bones were moved. That was admitted. There was a human pelvis found over in the quarry. The bones were in different spots. The body was not burned whole. It's not possible to do that. So you've got the same bone in three different places. You've got only 30% of the bones recovered. You have 29 of the teeth never recovered. The bones look like they were planted. The property was closed down. The coroner from Manitowoc was not allowed on the property and actually was not notified it was a murder—that violates the Wisconsin statute."
In Zellner's motion, she wrote that Sgt. Andy Colborn of MTSO discovered Teresa's RAV4 on November 3rd, at which time it was seized by MTSO; and then on November 4th, after the CASO flyover, it was moved from Radandt's quarry to the Avery property using the conveyor road:
"On November 3, 2005, Officer Colborn discovered the victim’s vehicle and called dispatch, on a personal line, to confirm the victim’s license plate number. On November 3, 2005, according to the Manitowoc County Sheriff s Department reports, Ms. Halbach’s vehicle was seized. Ms. Halbach's vehicle was moved to the southeast corner of the Avery property on the evening of November 4, 2005 after Calumet County Sheriff Jerry Pagel and Investigator Wendy Baldwin conducted a flyover of the Avery salvage yard. Ms. Halbach's vehicle was moved from the Fred Radandt Sons, Inc. quarry to the Avery property using the conveyor road that led onto the Avery property from the quarry."
Keep in mind that around 8 p.m. on November 4th, Chuck Avery saw headlights in the area where the RAV4 would be found the next morning.

Zellner also wrote that Steven Avery contends the victim’s key and bones were planted on his property on November 7, 2005 and were discovered on November 8, 2005:
"Non-law enforcement individuals were also allowed to enter the property after the property was closed to the general public. Two of those individuals were untruthful in their police interviews. Mr. Avery will present his third party theory in his post-conviction petition that he will file once he obtains the new test results. Individual A [Joshua Radandt] accessed the  property from the quarry four times, for some unknown reason, after it had been closed to the public. Specifically, Individual A accessed the property within minutes of Officers Colborn and Lenk on November 5, and twice on November 7. Prior to anyone realizing that Ms. Halbach’s body had been burned, Individual A gave a statement in which he described seeing a fire in a burn barrel behind Mr. Avery’s garage on October 31, 2005. Subsequent investigation has determined that Individual A’s statement is contrary to the facts; Mr. Avery’s burn barrel was never behind his trailer or garage, and it was impossible for Individual A to observe Mr.  Avery’s backyard as he described because of the elevation of the quarry from where he was allegedly making his observations.

"Individual B [Ryan Hillegas] accessed the property using a false name... Individual B received approximately 22 calls from law enforcement on November 4, 2005, prior to the victim’s vehicle being moved onto the property. Individual B accessed the Avery property twice on November 7, 2005 and once on November 8, 2005 after the property was closed to the public. Mr. Avery contends that the victim’s key and bones were planted on November 7, 2005 and were discovered on November 8, 2005."
On April 9, 2016, Kathleen Zellner tweeted:
“All day re-tracing TH steps. No doubt she left Avery property alive. All roads lead to one door and it's not Steven Avery's.”
An interpretation of the tweet is as follows:
There are several roads in and out of Radandt's quarry into Avery Salvage Yard [Radandt's quarry is to the south, east and west of Avery Salvage Yard.]

All roads from Radandt's lead straight to Avery Salvage Yard.

The hunting cabins at the deer camp in Radandt's quarry are pictured above as they were on November 4, 2005. There were three cabins and what looks like a shed or garage. One of the cabins/trailers appears to be red. Avery's red trailer is at the top of the image.

The smaller cabin (on the left in the image above) and the red trailer (the center cabin in the image above) at Radandt's deer camp are no longer there. When they were removed is unknown, but Radandt sold the deer camp almost a year to date after Teresa went missing.

Sometime after 2005 and before 2014, there were only two cabins (trailers) at the deep camp in Radandt's quarry, as pictured below.

solunaView of Reddit visited the deer camp at Radandt's quarry. The following is what he/she wrote about it on August 28, 2016:
  • The property was sold almost a year to the date after the TH murder.
  • The property and the access road is still an entry to the Radandt quarry.
  •  The property is very small and of little value for anyone, even as a "hunting" location due to the surrounding area.
  • The property was sold to someone from Sheboygan, WI. I have the name but will keep that to myself for doxxing reasons.
  • Radandt has relatives in Sheboygan and it is believed that the property is still in the family (if it wasn't, the road into the quarry would be closed off).
  • Trailers were moved and taken offsite. One of my concerns, and why I visited the actual camp, was to see if there was a foundation under any new trailers. There is not.
The "deer camp" theory was developed because of the trailers and the site changes. Joshua Radandt implicated himself by his early and far too detailed eyewitness accounts to law enforcement. The fact bloodhounds led right to the Kuss Road cul-de-sac only further complicates the issue. Human bones found on your property and you skate/are allowed on the Avery property during an active investigation? How is this possible?

When you place a cursor over a Google Maps satellite image of the deer camp at Radandt's quarry and right click on it, it displays the address as 13136 White Cedar Road. When you map the route to this address from Avery's, it takes you to the deer camp via Kuss Road.

Google doesn't properly map the driveway you would take through the woods at the end of the cul-de-sac on Kuss Road to get to the deer camp, but you can see that long driveway when viewing the satellite image (images above and below).

In the image below, the burn pile in the quarry is circled in red, Avery's trailer is circled in yellow, the location where the RAV4 was found in the "pit" at Avery Salvage Yard is circled in pink, and Radandt's deer camp is marked with the bullseye (it's actually to the left and below the bullseye).

The killer had three days before Teresa was reported missing to dispose of her body. The burn pile at the gravel mound in the quarry (circled in red in the image below) was far from any residences and would have been an ideal place to burn a body without being noticed.

The burn pile, although in the quarry, actually was on a section of land owned by the county.

Today, satellite images show mining of gravel west and northwest of Avery's trailer (image below); however, in October 2005 that area was a field with a vehicle-sized path running along the boundary with Avery Salvage Yard (image above). Because that field is now a quarry, you can no longer drive from the cul-de-sac on Kuss Road to Avery's trailer, but you still can drive from Kuss Road to the deer camp/hunting cabins in Radandt's quarry. This is visible in the image below and in the drone flyover of the Avery property from January 2016 (video below).

The image below is a screen shot from a video taken by a drone on October 31, 2016. You clearly can see that there now are only two trailers at Radandt's deer camp. There is a pine tree near the spot where the red trailer at the deer camp was located on October 31, 2005.

Below is a screen shot from an episode of Evil Lives Here on the Investigation Discovery channel. It is an image of Avery's property after the bones were discovered on November 8, 2005 (the blue tarp in the image was placed over the burn pit after the bones were found). You can see tire tracks going to the burn pit and coming from the direction of the field track to Kuss Road ( image source). Could the burnt remains found in Avery's burn pit have come in this way?

Below are other photos of Avery's property, but they were taken either before the bones were discovered in the burn pit behind Avery's garage or on the day the bones were discovered and the blue tarp had yet to be placed over the burn pit. You can see tire tracks going to the burn pit.

Law enforcement had commandeered Avery's property, his sister's property, and Avery Salvage Yard on November 5, 2005 and did not release it until November 12, 2005. During those eight days, the Avery family was not allowed on their properties. Delores Avery had a golf cart that she stored in her garage, which is where it was found when cops searched Avery Salvage Yard for Teresa Halbach at 2:30 p.m. on November 5, 2005 (CASO page 82). It remained on the property until cops removed it and secured it on a sealed trailer on November 11, 2005 (CASO, page 239). A cadaver dog alerted on this cart (Avery's 2009 motion, page 8). Could the tracks going to the burn pit behind Avery's garage be golf cart tracks?
