Kelly Pitzen Luedeke is a public school teacher in Wisconsin
Kelly Pitzen and Ryan Hillegas are key players. They phoned each other, for what appears to be the first time, in the days leading up to Teresa Halbach's disappearance. They called each other again on November 3rd, the day Teresa was reported missing. They were at Teresa's house together that same evening.
DCI agent Tom Fassbender wrote that Kelly advised him that Teresa "was one of her best girlfriends forever." And Kelly told him that she and Teresa shared a cousin on the Halbach side.
Is there a report that documents where Teresa's day planner page came from and how it came to be in possession by the police?
Here is Kelly Pitzen’s statement (excerpt) on which Kathleen Zellner’s theory is based:
Pitzen’s full statement about Ryan Hillegas having the schedule and calling a number on it (page 91 of Zellner’s October 2017 Motion - Exhibits):
http://www.stevenaverycase.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Oct-23-2017-Motion-for-Reconsideration-Exhibits.pdf
Pitzen’s statement about RH calling a number on the schedule makes no sense. The Sippel-Schmitz appointment in New Holstein doesn’t appear on the handwritten day planner:
http://www.stevenaverycase.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Exhibit-45-Halbach-day-planner.pdf
RH doesn’t have to be the one who removed the sheet from Teresa Halbach's RAV4. It could have been anybody, including Teresa.
Umbopus wrote at TickTockManitowoc
This post is about the fact that the phone call Ryan Hillegas made would have been to Sippel-Schmitz, and that information was not on the day planner.
The call RH made was to Sippel-Schmitz and hence Pitzen’s testimony about the source of the ‘New Holstein stop’ is inaccurate.
Read Pitzen's full statement (page 91). Pitzen states that RH first phones a New Holstein number (Steven Schmitz in New Holstein) and then Scott Bloedorn phones another number.
Pitzen has no reason to state ‘New Holstein’ other than that she knows this from the appointment sheet or from the person they phoned saying so.
So Pitzen means Sippel-Schmitz.
I don’t think we have to strictly state that Zellner’s claims about RH having the handwritten planner on the afternoon of November 3 means she’s tying it to him retrieving it when the RAV4 was found.
Pitzen’s claims are from late afternoon of November 3, whereas the car can’t have been found till the night of November 3 or on November 4. Most logic points to the car being found on the afternoon of November 4, which I’m sure Zellner agrees with. So, hence, Zellner's accusations that RH had the handwritten planner on the afternoon of November 3 mean that her theory about ‘RH and the planner’ is separate from her theory about the car planting.
Again, I don’t think Zellner is necessarily stating ‘RH could only have made that call from the handwritten planner; rather, I think her interpretation of Pitzen’s statement must be that the handwritten planner is in his possession at that time because he made a call from it.
But my concern is that perhaps Zellner’s team hasn’t connected the dots that the ‘New Holstein’ call RH made was to Schmitz and hence cannot be from the handwritten notes on TH's day planner.
So deducing that RH had the handwritten copy at that time, because Pitzen says he made a call from it, is inaccurate logic since the call RH made was in fact to Schmitz.
I don’t think Pitzen is misremembering the call RH made: the ‘New Holstein’ detail she gives about the call is too accurate; she is remembering that correctly, I believe.
I am claiming that Pitzen is misstating where RH sourced the ‘New Holstein stop’ information from, because it is not possible that anyone could phone a New Holstein number based on the handwritten day planner.
The handwritten day planner references ‘Steve Sheboygan,’ which is Speckman; and Pitzen is not claiming RH (or Scott Bloedorn) phoned a Sheboygan number.
Pitzen is claiming RH phoned a New Holstein number (Schmitz) and Scott Bloedorn a Manitowoc number (Zipperer.) And I’m not refuting that Scott Bloedorn called Speckman in Sheboygan at some point (this is well documented).
But Pitzen mentions two calls:
1. RH to New Holstein (Sippel-Schmitz) - the phone number had to have come from the Autotrader fax sheet or from TH's phone records, but Pitzen’s statement leads me to believe it came from the fax sheet.
2. Scott Bloedorn to Manitowoc (George Zipperer) - the phone number could have come from either the Autotrader fax sheet or from TH's phone records, but Pitzen’s statement says it came from the phone records.
Here’s the clincher though: Pitzen says that they called the Manitowoc number because it ‘was an Autotrader number,’ which means they definitely had the October 31st fax sheet at that time.
Hence, my belief that that they used the October 29th fax sheet to make the New Holstein call to Sippel-Schmitz.
Scott Bloedorn calls Steven Speckman at some point, yes, but Pitzen never refers to this call.
Pitzen only refers to Sippel-Schmitz and Zipperer calls in her statement. As such, the handwritten day planner is not the source of either of Pitzen’s statement calls.
This is a murky question depending on where you stand with believing Wiegert at various stages of the investigation.
https://i.imgur.com/0x9ls5J.jpg
Wiegert's report, from the same time frame that Pitzen is referring to, indicates they did have incoming calls on her phone records that afternoon.
Personally, the tone of this early Wiegert report gives me the vibe that he’s fairly honestly reporting facts at this stage; that this is your garden variety factual police report.
I tend to believe Wiegert gets swept up in the tide of corruption at a later date. His initial attitude in the early days of the investigation appeared to be genuine and honest.
e.g. We hear him on a call saying he thinks Zipperer was after Avery. This is clearly before he starts playing into the dodgy and sneaky antics to frame Steven.
So I take that report as pretty pure and hence I feel there were incoming calls on the phone records. Others will disagree that nothing Wiegert says should ever be believed.
Notes:
a) It has been debated whether the ‘password’ story is even true. There are strong theories that RH/SB actually phoned Cingular and procured unlawful access to Teresa’s account, etc., which would explain why the miracle password story sounds so off. It would also explain why they had such comprehensive records, etc.
b) The Speckman calls are, in general, a mystery. Many question their validity/existence because they’re conspicuously absent from reports and records, etc. So that should be noted too.
I definitely don’t rule out that Kelly Pitzen might have some knowledge of the framing and it has contributed to her muddled details.
I believe a group was with RH at the vehicle in the Colborn call, hence RH hollering ‘the car’s here!’ to others: it makes sense Pitzen was part of that group.
We really have no reason to believe it was RH at all. He’s certainly a candidate, anyone that was an accessory to the car planting is a candidate.
Obviously, those 22 weird calls on his phone records point to him assisting with the planting, so he goes on the list of people that might have removed the day planner from the RAV4 (if that is, in fact, how it was obtained). But to be honest I don’t completely rule out other versions of events where Teresa made it home too (there isn’t really enough info around these topics to have a clear theory).
So honestly, this post has only one point to it: Pitzen’s statement is definitely muddled one way or another because the ‘New Holstein’ call RH made was Schmitz and that information is not on the day planner.
Teresa Halbach and Ryan Hillegas Talked by Phone Every Monday in October 2005 Except for October 31st
Fassbender wrote that Teresa "had been a childhood friend" of Kelly's and that "they went to school together right up to college and then kept in touch through college" (Teresa went to University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, and Kelly went to University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, the same school Ryan Hillegas attended).
The following is a summary of Kelly's calls to Teresa's cell phone (call duration in parentheses). Teresa never called Kelly's cell phone number ending in 3588 from her own cell phone in 2005, which strongly indicates that Teresa had another cell phone that she used for personal communications.
Kelly calls to Teresa:
9/2, 8:33 PM (1:00)
9/2, 8:34 PM (:46)
9/5, 2:32 AM (:07)
9/5, 11:19 AM (:29) from parents' land line
9/10, 1:30 PM (:29)
9/14, 9:32 PM (1:17)
9/23, 9:06 PM (:27)
9/26, 5:33 PM (:54)
10/7, 4:35 PM (:44)
10/14, 5:31 PM (:35)
10/28, 8:30 PM (:28)
10/28, 9:32 PM (:13)
10/28, 9:34 PM (:54)
On October 28th, Ryan called Kelly, who, after talking to Ryan, seemed determined to get in touch with Teresa.
Kelly called Teresa three times on the night of October 28th. The first call went to voicemail. The next two calls appear to be three-way calls initiated by Kelly.
A bartender who was an acquaintance of Kelly called CASO dispatch and said that Kelly and Teresa were at his bar around midnight on Saturday, which could have been Friday night, which became Saturday at midnight.
John Dedering, retired detective for the Calumet County Sheriff's Office (CASO), opened a new investigation into the Halbach case in 2017, and as part of the 2017 investigation he interviewed Kelly Pitzen.
The following images are excerpts from the CASO reports filed by Dedering in 2017.
In August 2005, Kelly and Teresa went on a road trip through central Wisconsin, according to Kelly's November 13, 2005, interview with Post Crescent.
From the Post Crescent interview:
It was that sense of adventure that made childhood friend Kelly Pitzen want to stay close to Halbach.
In an impromptu road trip in August through central Wisconsin, the two women camped one night in a tent Halbach borrowed by her younger brother, Mike.
Pitzen saw a hole ripped in the tent. Alarmed someone could have been trying to get in, she nudged Halbach.
"That's nothing. I clawed my way out," Halbach told her. She needed to go to the rest room and had not been able to find her way out.
The next morning, they patched the hole with duct tape.
"We laughed for weeks," Pitzen said. "We did a lot of laughing during that road trip that my stomach was hurting."
Friends Remember Halbach, Known for Her Kindness and Tender Photos (Excerpt)
By Ron Seely
November 13, 2005
“I look at the pictures on her walls,” said Pitzen, “and I know the story behind every one of them.”
Pitzen said her friendship with Halbach goes back to preschool. She said she will always remember her friend’s smile, her sincerity, her willingness to drop everything when someone needed her.
“I want others to know that Teresa was always the kind of person that people just gravitated toward,” Pitzen said. “She was always bubbly and smiling. And she was always there to listen. If you didn’t go to her for advice, you could be sure she would search you down.”
To a person, Halbach’s friends also fondly remembered another surprising trait, one that says something about her enthusiasm for life and which made each of them laugh as they explained.
Halbach could not resist a karaoke stage. She was fabulous, Pitzen and Hillegas recalled, and became an absolute ham when she took the stage.
“I think she liked the freedom it gave her,” Hillegas said. “She’d dance and point and play the character of the person in the song. We’re all going to do a karaoke in her honor.”
Sarah Kluth now lives in Chicago but has remained close to Halbach since the two met in college in Green Bay.
“I’ll never forget her genuineness, her sincerity, and how she honestly loved people,” Kluth said Saturday. “And she was such a faithful friend. I remember once I had to visit dairy farms for my job and I called Teresa and asked if she would go along and take some photographs. And there she was with her camera tromping through manure with me. It was just so cool to have a friend like that, who would laugh and say, I don’t care where we are or what we’re doing, I’m with you and that’s what is important.’ “
So powerful was the connection Halbach had with her friends that many of them have spent the last couple of weeks tirelessly searching for her.
Hillegas has done nothing else. He was the one who organized the searches and spent long days afield looking for his friend. It was what she would have done, he said.
The search is over now, of course. And updated news on the search has been replaced on the family’s Web page with a poignant summation.
“It seems as though we have achieved our goal of finding Teresa,” the note reads. “The hearts of our family go out to everyone who has a missing loved one or have had to cope with the murder of a family friend . . . We know we will see Teresa again in Heaven.”
Is Sarah Kluth the "Sarah" on Teresa's day planner (image above)? Why would Karen Halbach have Sarah's stuff? Was Sarah at the Halbach party on October 30, 2005?
Kelly, what else do you and Ryan Hillegas know about Teresa Halbach's disappearance?
If TH was privy to the plan to frame SA, she would've left his appointments until last in the day, and then she would have turned off her phone, just in case this would be the day SA had no alibi. This is what she did on those ASY Mondays. #MakingAMurdererhttps://t.co/NAwxhpZ8aP— Lick The Knife (@RenyRoha) April 24, 2019
What if? TH's family had her committed and their connections in high places decided to use the opportunity to "make" a murderer. There are claims of people being held against their will and drugged at the very same place as Carol's letter about TH at WMHI.https://t.co/uJubGmRUrl— Lick The Knife (@RenyRoha) June 1, 2019

I was going through all the cell phone records and affidavits again today and I came across something VERY interesting. Steven Speckman and Denise Coakley Heitl were both potential customers of Teresa's which had spoken to her the day she went missing. They were asked to complete affidavits regarding the content of their conversations. BOTH stated that Teresa had looked at her CALENDAR to check scheduling times. Denise went as far as to say that Teresa stated she had to pull over to check. This indicates Teresa was already out doing her daily work schedule. Yet, on Nov 3rd Ryan Hillegas has her CALENDAR. Ryan also made no attempt to call important people inquiring about Teresa's whereabouts until Nov 3. When he did finally start calling people Teresa's old friend Kelly Pitzen came over to help Ryan at Teresa's home. Kelly stated in her affidavit that Ryan told her he called one of the last numbers in Teresa's phone and a man, who was gruff with Ryan, said he had never heard of Teresa Halbach.
[–]Badbvivian
How could ryan call one of the last numbers in her phone if he didnt have her phone?
[–]BunnyChapparral
He was able to access her phone records online. This is the bit where he guesses her password. He printed the call history out and passed it along to Weigert.
[–]FlowerInMirror
That's what we assume but he actually said numbers on her phone. It's probably another bad wording /s
[–]kato_nyc
Sounds like this maybe the case, but do we know how quick calls show up on the online account...? Like would calls made 3 days prior show up online...? Sorry not sure how it worked back then...
[–]dirge_real
I do recall you could get near real-time minute counters for cell phone service on the web, in 2005
[–]ThirtyLastCalls
In 2004, Cingular customer service could access call records two hours (maybe less) after a call was placed. Someone stole my phone out of my locker that year, my mom called Cingular, they gave her the last number that had been dialed two hours prior, she called the number, and it went the home of the girl who stole it. I remember this well because I was so afraid I had lost it and would be in trouble.
[–]MzEllaneous
Another question: Does saved numbers within the cellphone phonebook/contacts actually show up on the online account? I doubt that happened in 2005 w/ Cingular. But I could be wrong since I've never had that service before.
How I read that testimony is: He had access to saved numbers on the phone. Bad wording or not, that's what I am registering it as.

Dedering. The Fixer. Fabrications Continue... (self.TickTockManitowoc)
ReplyDeleteby SBRH33
I have to vent for a moment.
CASO 2 IS AS CLEAR AS A SHEET OF GLASS. Its pathetic.
Reactivating a soundly retired Investigator, John Dedering, to reinvestigate the Halbach murder 12 years after the fact comes off as a desperate attempt to clean up once again a failed and corrupted murder investigation. Why... Why do this if the State and its local LEO believe the correct two people are in prison for the crime and that the mountain of evidence against them proves so?
Of all people, Dedering? Why? ...Why now?
The way I see this:
Dedering is running an interference campaign to counter Zellner's investigation to delitgitimize her witnesses and accompaniying affidavits.
Possible witness intimidation? I mention this for a few reasons. Dedering did go after Josh Radandt, Bryan Dassey and William Siebert. Three key individuals that gave Zellner searing affidavits that contradicted the prosecutions 2005 narrative. Josh at least was savvy enough have been interviewed by Dedering with his lawyer present. Way to be Josh! ...
But it seems Dedering did get to him since now Josh according to DEDERING, is that Zellners investigator seemed "pushy" and that Josh now thinks he had mentioned the tracking dogs and not the DCI agents. Why would Josh bring up the tracking dogs out of the blue? For what reason? Unless he was "encouraged to state that by Dedering" ...Something dosen't jive with Josh's new statements to LEO. William Siebert flat out told Dedering to leave him alone. IMO, I think Dedering was badgering Siebert through phone calls and visits. Although Dedering writes in his report that he only attempted to visit Siebert twice, I wouldn't doubt that Dedering was there much more than just twice. So Seibert put a stop to it.
Siebert saw something when he saw it. Why would the old man lie about it? Its obvious that someone thinks Siebert's sighting and affidavit is meaningful to the investigation and sent Dedering over to readjust his memory. William Seibert wasn't having any of it. ...
Now Bryan, I dont understand why he didn't tell Dedering to piss off like Siebert did. But Bryan talked and look what Dedering did in his report regarding Bryan. he made Bryan look like a total asshole. I believe he badgered Bryan until he finally consented. The fact that Dedering at all is asking any of these witnesses questions and inquiring about their affidavits is quite telling and tremendously bothersome.
Dedering is expending an awful lot of energy over the RAV Key/Lanyard and the damaged blinker assembly. Both to which should have been thoroughly investigated back in 2005. Not 12 years later. It is clear Dedering is building a narrative around these items to legitimize them. Especially the Lanyard and Key.
This brings us to Kelly Pitzen's incredulous interview.
DeleteI do not believe Kelly's story at all. It is all way too convenient. I ask this... why did the investigators in 2005 not glean this information from Kelly about the camping trip, the duct tape lanyard, and the apparent Original Toyota key FOB that Halbach had "apparently" lost in the summer of 2005? All of a sudden Kelly has recalled all of this information? The Journal, the pics and the camping anecdotes... I don't believe any of it.
But why would Kelly Pitzen get involved now with the reinvestigation and give Dedering this report? If she forged that Journal entry... why? Why expose herself like that? Is it because Dedering knows something about her? Could be.
Dedering and the investigators back in 2005 leveraged just about everyone to give statements that were either false, untrue or flat out fantasy to hang Steve Avery for Halbach's murder. Why wouldn't they now leverage Kelly?
Wasn't Kelly Pitzen the friend over at the Halbach house back on November 3rd 2005... the one that Ryan called but it turns out why would he call her if she was right there next to him at Halbach's house... anyone remember that? Wasn't it Kelly who allegedly impersonated Halbach on the telephone to gain access to her cingular account? Hope someone could look that up. Because if true could simply be the very reason why that Kelly at this point is so eager and willing to do Dedering's bidding at this time.
With all that tossed out there, Dedering seems to be asking some very moronic questions. For instance he asked Scott Tadych if he was involved with or killed Teresa Halbach?.... What did Dedering expect? ...For Scott to say yea I did it, put the cuffs on me? Or was it Dedering's way of playing psychic warfare with Scott? Conveying to Scott, look I know the truth and this can go sideways for you in a number of ways so you better get everyone playing ball again like you did back in 2005. Just a thought.
The clear Stars of Dedering's investigative fishing expedition were Kelly Pitzen's interview and the Barb and Scott interview. Lets look at Barb Jandych's insane blatherings regarding the computer in her house.
Depending on which way the wind is blowing on any given day Barb will claim she didn't have internet access in 2005, or doesn't remember having internet access in 2005. Ye all of her kids were enjoying the fruits of having internet access in 2005 like chat rooms, teen girls and torture porn.
[...]
There is other material in CASO 2 worth spilling key strokes over but I think I am done now. We just have to wait it out until September. I hope Zellner has a game plan in place to keep these jokers in check because its getting real now.
DeleteIn closing, just look at the CASO 2, study the questions that are being asked. Study what IS NOT being asked. Look at who Dedering went back to interview... all prosecution witnesses.
The Kelly Pitzen and the "Jandych" interview. Read between those lines.
Lastly look who else was contacted by Dedering. Jolene Bain, One fifth of the 5 Girlfriends of Halbach who were located down in the SOUTHWEST corner of the Salvage Yard on the morning November 5th when the RAV4 was discovered. The same Jolene Bain who was present at the Halbach house on the 4th and had a private interview with Gerald Pagel and Mark Weigart... Jolene was there at the salvage yard on the 5th. Her and her friends know exactly what happened down there.
As I like to say... if DEDERING is back in play....

THE DAY PLANNER: The true "smoking" gun, and not because you can rip out a page and use it as rolling papers.
ReplyDeletePosted by u/[deleted]
A lot has been made recently of the day planner that Zellner has been bringing up and referencing in her recent motions and filings. The SAME day planner that RYAN gives to KELLY on 11/3 when they all gather at Teresa's house.
Questions have been raised as to how this relates to the state's theory that Teresa only had 3 appointments that day, and that they started after 1PM with Schmitz, then Zipperer, then lastly Avery. Questions that to me, are a lot more important that a sweaty, portly prosecutor in a bad suit
The first answer to that theory is... We now know, that's a lie.
The Second answer is... The gas tank reading Zellner asked for, was imperative. More on that later...
How do we know? By the good graces of honest witnesses like Mrs Denise, Mr Steve S, and Mr Daniel M.
...More on those angels later
Zellner has had this put together for a long while now, while the filings have allowed us laymen and women on Reddit to take a good gander at these documents and formulate whatever coherent theories stick out, with some guidance from the due diligence of Zellner's investigators and experts.
It was always assumed that Teresa actually did start her day when the state said she did under oath. It was assumed this day planner was left behind at her home when she left to start her workday, around noon.
You know what they say... when you assume... you make an ass out of U and ME.
Let's Dive In...
DeleteThere are a few key points you need to remember when going through this post
The STATE'S THEORY was that Teresa started her day with Schmitz, then drove to Zipperer, then lastly Avery where she met her maker.
DANIEL MORROW was always in CASO as having spoken to Teresa at 11:31AM and confirming an appointment with her for Wednesday, 11/2. Link to CASO report showing Morrow statement
MISS DENISE has given an affidavit mentioning speaking to Teresa just 4 minutes after Teresa spoke to Daniel above. In her affidavit, she says that Teresa confirms on her calendar for the next day, Tuesday, at her STUDIO. Link to affidavit of MISS DENISE
STEVEN SPECKMAN has given an affidavit mentioning speaking to Teresa a little over an hour after Miss Denise spoke to Teresa. More specifically, at 12:44PM on Halloweeen. Mister Speckman also mentions that Teresa is in the Sheboygan area and will be there for the next half hour, but Steve cannot find the time to meet Teresa that day. Plans are made to reschedule at a later time. Link to affidavit of Steve Speckman
What does this information above tell us?
Well... Let's see.
It tells us that Teresa had communication with 3 people between 11:30am and 12:45PM. Those 3 people all made plans with Teresa for following days and or agreed to communicate again in the future.
DeleteIt tells us that Teresa was in Sheboygan, AN HOUR AWAY FROM HOME at 12:45 PM and even said she can extend it for another half hour if Steve could meet. Steve couldn't meet, so Teresa went on to her NEXT STEVE, Schmitz.
It ALSO tells us that... Teresa had her day planner as she made notations for ALL 3 calls listed above in now documented legal records... How do we know?
THAT tells us that Ryan should not have had the day planner on 11/3 when he handed it over to Kelly.
LASTLY IT TELLS US that Teresa's workday started MUCH earlier than the State wanted the jury to believe. tisk tisk.
Let's take a look at the Day planner itself.
As you can see above, the notations on the day planner correlate with the calls, and statements of those 3 witnesses.
What question does this raise of RYAN?
Well... If Teresa had that planner in her car when she went to Averys...
How did you get that planner, buddy?
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
DeleteYou will be faced with a question from the opposition of "How do you know Teresa didn't drive home after Sheboygan and before Schmitz to drop off the planner?"
The answer to that questions can be two fold.
1) Factually... Teresa would not make it back to Hilbert then to New Holstein, then to Manitowoc in time to satisfy the state's theory.
2) And just for fun... Do you think its logical for Teresa to drive 140 miles in her workday back and forth? I think Not
2a) If someone answers question (2) TWO with YES, then just circle back to those pesky gas mileage readings Zellner asked for.
Oops.
Tick Tock.

Still Seeking Answers About Ryan (self.TickTockManitowoc)
ReplyDeleteby magilla39
In Zellner Law's "The Steven Avery Proof of Guilt Challenge", many questions were raised, as the defense team prepared its 1,200 page Zellnami motion that initiated the defense's major offensive campaign to free Steven. Recently, attention has turned to suspect (2) Bobby, and suspect (3), Scott, and its all to easy to forget that we still have many unanswered questions about Ryan H.
Here are some of the more critical questions yet to answer:
(78) Why did Ryan Hillegas claim that Scott Bloedorn called him about Ms. Halbach being missing when the phone records show that Mr. Hillegas called Scott Bloedorn first at 2:19 p.m.?
(79) Why did Ryan Hillegas claim to be with Kelly Pitzen at Ms. Halbach’s house on November 3 all afternoon until midnight or 1 a.m. when Pitzen called him at 5:16 p.m. and Ryan called Pitzen at 7:18 p.m.?
(74) Explain why Ryan Hillegas accessed Teresa Halbach’s Cingular account at 5:48 p.m., before the investigators arrived at Ms. Halbach’s residence.
(75) Why was the Cingular account accessed a second time at 7:18 p.m. when Mr. Hillegas was not present?
(84) Why do the investigators not discover who had possession of Ms. Halbach day planner?
(82) Why did the missing person poster describing Ms. Halbach’s vehicle not describe the front-end damage to the parking light if the damage existed prior to her disappearance?
(99) Explain why Mr. Hillegas told the investigators a false story that the Halbach family told Mr. Hillegas that Ms. Halbach had damaged the driver’s side parking light of her vehicle, made an insurance claim, received compensation, but had not used the proceeds to repair the parking light.
(72) Explain why Ryan Hillegas was never questioned about the 21 unknown phone calls he received on November 4 between 3:45 p.m. and 7:25 p.m.
Now that we know Bobby and Scott may have lied about Teresa not leaving the salvage yard, what does that mean about Ryan, his omissions and his lies?

One piece still not fitting into the Puzzle. (self.TickTockManitowoc)
by FakedBlood
Although there is quite a circumstantial case pointing towards Bobby, the planner does not fit. KZ says when you have it figured out everything fits. The planner was found on November 3rd, but AC calls the plates on November 4th. If RH got the planner from LE when they moved the car on the night of the 4th how did he have the planner on the 3rd. More evidence is pointing toward BoD because he has been caught in so many lies. There is still the thought in my mind that Teresa made it home. If so I don't think BoD did it. Maybe he is lying for other reasons.

A Second Look into the first Few Pages of the CASO Investigative Report (self.TickTockManitowoc)
ReplyDeleteby missingtruth
I mentioned this in a reply to another post but I wanted to bring it up again along with something else.
Leslie L. with CASO took the original missing person report and contacted Angela S. with Auto Trader. She told Lemieux that Teresa had 3 appoints on Monday. Sipple, Janda & Zipperer.
Obviously, Karen had already called AT because Angela states she had placed calls to Teresa's appointments for Monday and was waiting on calls back. Nobody seemed to mention that Angela had called them verifying that Teresa had been there. She must have left messages if she was waiting on return calls. So, when she called Janda's number, did anyone in the Dassey house hear that message on the 3rd and is that what alerted someone she was reported missing before Colborn showed up and the late news broadcast?
Lemieux had called Zipperer and left a message and he did call back acting crazy and belligerent. Wiegart called Sipple and got ahold of S. Schmitz who met up with and paid Teresa.
Neither one calls the Janda number. Why not? Or did they?
And did someone tell them she had met with Steven or...
When reading CASO, it appears Lemieux and Wiegart are at Teresa's residence when he comes up with his list of phone numbers based on Teresa's phone records that Ryan & Friends printed off.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Ryan had already done the reverse directory look up and that he also had Teresa's paperwork from her Rav4. Besides KZ proving he had her day planner, I believe he also may have had her receipt book and all her other AT stuff.
We know she had a receipt book because she offered Steven one which he refused. I would assume she would write a receipt, especially for cash transactions, to keep her accounting straight. And I would assume she wrote "Steven Avery" on it to verify he was the one who paid cash for the ad.
So, did Ryan write Steven's name next to Janda's (Dassey's) phone number from her receipt book or other AT papers? We know Wiegart didn't actually look it up or it would have come back to T. Janda like when Dedering actually does look it up. And when Dedering looked up Zipperer's number it came back as Zipperer Home Improvement.
It also appears he calls Colborn before he leaves Teresa's house and tells him to check two residences - Avery & Zipperer. No mention of Janda. Zero, Zip, Zilch...
Janda became Avery before anyone outside of the family should have even known it was Steven that met with Teresa.

DIRECT EXAMINATION OF SCHMITZ BY ATTORNEY KRATZ:
ReplyDeleteQ. Mr. Schmitz, where are you from, sir?
A. New Holstein, Wisconsin. [His home is actually in Kiel, WI, southwest of New Holstein]
Q. I'm going to direct your attention to the 31st of October, 2005, ask if you remember that day?
A. Yes, I do.
Q. And did you make any contact that day with a young woman that you later learned was Teresa Halbach?
A. Yes, I did.
Q. Tell the jury, please, how it was that you made contact with Ms Halbach?
A. I had a car for sale. She contacted me that day. She was going to be here about 1:30. She showed up. She did a photograph of my car. I gave her a check. She gave me a receipt with a bag with information in it and then she left.
Q. Mr. Schmitz, how long was it that this transaction occurred; in other words, how long did it take for Ms Halbach to take the photographs, get paid, give you the information and be on her way?
A. Ten to fifteen minutes, max.
Q. Where did this transaction take place?
A. In my driveway.
Q. In New Holstein?
A. Yeah. [His home is actually in Kiel, WI, southwest of New Holstein]
Q. You're quite sure it was around 1:30 p.m.?
A. Yes, I am.
Did Teresa successfully mail/overnight Schmitz's check, was it received by Autotrader (along with the media card containing the photos), was it deposited, and did Schmitz's ad run as scheduled?
Steven Avery's trial transcript, day 18, March 7, 2007 (page 231), Strang's cross examination of Mark Wiegert:
Q. The -- One of the men that you later were able to confirm that she visited and took a photograph of a car he had for sale, on October 31st, was this Steve Schmitz, whom we spoke about a few minutes ago?
A. Yes.
Q. Mr. Schmitz, you learned, wrote a check for the Auto Trader services?
A. I would have to see that report. I don't know how he paid. I think you are right. I recall seeing a check from him.
Q. Yeah, I think he actually testified --
A. That's possible.
Q. -- to that. That's a check that you never found?
A. Could you be more specific, never found, period?
Q. It never turned up?
A. Not to my knowledge.
Q. And you -- you -- you checked into this, so to speak, and found out that the check was never negotiated.
A. I believe, actually, now that you are talking about, he had stopped payment on that check, I think was his testimony, I believe.
Q. And you learned that no one ever presented the check for payment, or tried to cash the check?
A. Not that we have been made aware of.
